Wax print is a cotton printed on both sides using a resin-resist technique, an industrial process developed in the Netherlands in the 19th century and inspired by Javanese batik. It became a staple across West and Central Africa, where geometric motifs such as stars are among the most widespread.
Red is a colour of celebration and confidence, often seen in ceremonial outfits in Cameroon. A red wax gets noticed at first glance, so it is often kept for birthdays, evenings and big nights out.
100% cotton plain weave, medium weight, 120 cm wide. A crisp fabric that holds fitted cuts well.
Breathable and pleasant against the skin; it has enough body for peplums and flared skirts without feeling heavy in the heat.

Frequently asked questions
Will the red bleed onto other laundry?
Reds can run at first. Wash the garment alone for the first two or three washes, at 30°C and inside out, then with dark colours.
Which style should I choose?
For an evening look, the Seme short dress; for something dressier, the Japoma peplum set; for smart everyday wear, the Nkongsamba shirt dress.
Can I pair it with another fabric?
Yes, part by part when the style allows it. On the Japoma set, for instance, a red wax peplum can play against a turquoise wax jacket.
