Wax print is a cotton printed on both sides using a resin-resist technique, an industrial process developed in the Netherlands in the 19th century and inspired by Javanese batik. Widely adopted across West and Central Africa, it comes in a huge range of palettes, from earthy tones to bright blue-greens.
In Cameroon, wax marks every stage of life, from christenings to weddings. Turquoise shades, less common than classic blues and reds, are loved for summer outfits, holidays in Kribi or Limbe, and outings with friends.
100% cotton plain weave, medium weight, 120 cm wide. Light to wear, and it keeps its shape well.
Cool and breathable, perfect for hot, humid days on the coast.

Frequently asked questions
Does turquoise fade in the sun?
Like any bright colour, it can lighten if it is often dried in full sun. Dry it in the shade and inside out to keep it bright.
Does the fabric shrink?
Slight shrinkage can happen on the first wash. Wash at 30°C maximum and skip the tumble dryer.
Can I pair it with another fabric?
Yes, part by part when the style allows it. The Kumba set also takes chambray and linen, so a turquoise top over plain shorts works very well.
