Chocolate gabardine
Chocolate gabardine for a sharp, warm look
FCFA 4,500 per metre
Width: 150 cm
Gabardine is a tightly woven twill, recognisable by its fine diagonal ribs. Originally made of wool, it now comes in many blends, like this polyester and viscose. Its dense weave gives it good structure and a smooth surface.
Gabardine is a tailoring cloth par excellence, used for jackets, trousers and sets that need to hold their line all day. In Cameroon it is used for band-collar sets and suits worn to the office, church and ceremonies.
Polyester and viscose, 150 cm wide. A medium-weight fabric, smooth and slightly supple, that hangs well.
Viscose adds softness and some breathability; less cool than linen, it stays comfortable indoors and in the evening.

Frequently asked questions
Does gabardine crease?
Not much: the polyester and viscose blend holds its line well. A quick press with a pressing cloth restores the trouser crease.
Which style suits chocolate gabardine?
For men, the Joss flap suit or the Makepe set; for women, the Mbanga sheath dress. The Garoua safari shirt is a more relaxed option.
Can it be combined with another fabric?
Yes, part by part when the style allows it: on the Bonaberi set, for example, a chocolate gabardine vest and trousers with a sky blue chambray shirt.
