Fuchsia and green wax
A bold fuchsia and green wax full of character
FCFA 3,800 per metre
Width: 120 cm
Wax print is a cotton printed on both sides using a resin-resist technique, an industrial process developed in the Netherlands in the 19th century and inspired by Javanese batik. Spread widely across West and Central Africa, it has become a language of colour there, and strong contrasts like pink and green are much sought after.
In Cameroon, choosing a high-contrast wax is a way to stand out at weddings, bride-price ceremonies (dot) and Sunday outings. These vivid colours are especially popular for women's skirt-and-top sets.
100% cotton plain weave, medium weight, 120 cm wide. Enough body for peplums and very full skirts.
Breathable, it holds the volume of a skirt without feeling too warm, even at midday.

Frequently asked questions
Could the fuchsia bleed?
Bright shades may run slightly at first. Wash the outfit alone the first few times, at 30°C, then dry it in the shade.
Which style suits a wedding?
The Logbaba maxi skirt set is the dressiest; the Kotto set is perfect for a dot ceremony or a daytime party.
Can I mix this wax with another fabric?
Yes, part by part when the style allows it: for example a fuchsia wax top with a kente or ndop maxi skirt on the Logbaba set.
