About this design
The Makossa shirt takes its name from the rhythm born in Douala, and it has the same easy swing. A loose cut, a clean mandarin collar and a chest pocket: it's the shirt you throw on for Saturday errands and keep on for drinks with friends that evening. The collar, each sleeve and the pocket can each take a different fabric from the body, for a subtle or bold contrast.
Loose doesn't mean shapeless. Because it is cut to your own measurements, the shoulders sit where they should, the sleeves stop at the right length and the fabric moves with you instead of swallowing you. A Douala tailor sews it for you, then the KOUTIVA team checks the seams and finish before delivery. It feels like an old favourite from the very first day.
