About this design
The Edea is a midi dress made from two fabrics. The crossover top, in a plain material, frames the face and forms a flattering V-neck. The pencil skirt, in printed wax, hugs the hips and falls to mid-calf. Mustard crepe with green leaf wax, or white poplin with orange floral wax: the pairing creates an elegant play of colour, modern yet rooted in African print.
A pencil skirt and a crossover top are both fitted cuts, one following the hips, the other the bust. For them to work together, the waist seam must sit in the right place and the wrap must not gape. That is exactly what made to measure delivers. Your Douala tailor sews the dress to your measurements, and KOUTIVA checks where the two fabrics meet before delivery.
Styling tips
- Pick a plain top in a colour found in the wax skirt.
- Pumps or slim-heeled sandals lengthen the pencil skirt.
- Add a thin belt to highlight where the fabrics meet.
- In the evening, swap your work bag for a clutch.
Choosing your fabric
For the office, pair a white poplin or midnight blue gabardine top with a green leaf wax skirt; for a party, mustard crepe with orange floral wax is radiant.
